SS Milwaukee Clipper
Formed in 1997 the Great Lakes Clipper Preservation Association was formed, dedicated to preserving the legendary SS Milwaukee Clipper. In December, 1983 she was listed on the National Register of Historic Sites, and in May, 1989 she was designated a National Historic Landmark.
On December 2, 1997, the group returned the SS Milwaukee Clipper to Muskegon, after an absence of 20 years. Today, through the efforts of volunteers, the "Queen of the Great Lakes" is being lovingly, and painstakingly, restored to her former glory, to be preserved as a living museum for many generations to come.
